CAPRACOTTESI IN THE WORLD STATUE FUND Dear Fellow Capracottesi: We have begun to design, construct and dedicate a bronze statue in Capracotta, Italy, that will serve as a tribute to our ancestors and family members who came from the village of Capracotta. The nature and our intention behind the statue is that it will serve as a As you can see from the artist’s renderings and the letter from the Mayor of Capracotta, we have already taken steps toward making this tribute a reality. Further we have obtained the support and approval of the Mayor of Capracotta, the Honorable Pasquale DiNucci. Mayor DiNucci has worked with us for almost two years to make this dream become a reality. In the many months that our committee has been working on this thus far, we have contracted with an Italian sculptor, Antonio Di Campli, who has prepared clay rendering of the future statue. The statue will be life size and its base, which is shaped like the Molise region, will be over 10 feet in diameter with moving water. It will be located in a small park-like preserve located in a prominent spot on the main road into Capracotta. Moreover, the local church, La Madonna Di Loreto, has donated a piece of land across from the church, on the main road into town, on which the statue will be on display for decades to come. We are hopeful that we can have the statue and small preserve around it completed within 18 months. A dedication ceremony for the statue would likely be planned for some time in 2007. In order to bring this tribute to life, we would appreciate your donation as soon as possible. The expected cost of the statue (and all the work necessary to construct it), is currently anticipated to be approximately $75,000 to $100,000. All names will be the same size, regardless of donation amount (provided that the donation is at least $250.00). The name of the original Capracottesi (i.e. those who were born in Capracotta and their spouses) will be placed on the plaque on the front panel(s) of the statue. All other names will be placed around the base of the statue. You should know that 100% of all donations will be given to the design, construction and maintenance of the statue and preserve. If any excess funds remain after all other expenses are paid (and a sufficient amount is placed in trust for expected maintenance of the statue into the future), we will donate the extra money to the Capracotta old age home in town. |

Therefore, we will be placing the name of each donor (or their designee) in a permanent engraving in stone or bronze at the base of the statue for $250.00 per name.
